This book was excellent. Not quite what I expected and different from other shifter books but so well written that you feel like you are part of the whole. Tala orphaned very young with no parental memories raised by humans as a human. Dax the alpha of the local pack. Tala as a human trying to be the best mayor for the town gets sucked into a scheme instigated by the wolf who orphaned her. Dax lost his mate and expects that to be the end of it but, he scents Tala and like having a brick to the side of his head comes to some realizations that set him back on his heels. In the end Tala and Dax become an unbeatable team ready to do and be what their pack and town needs. I received this ARC from the author for free and am leaving this review voluntarily

KC Wilde has spent much of her adult life with exotic animals. She loves animals more than most people and seemingly actually believes animal shifters exist. She has started writing her thoughts and fantasies about shifters, including vampires and other supernaturals.
She likes to write complete love stories, or mysteries, then add plot twists that are unusual. She reads a lot and has decided to try her hand at writing. She has been around a long time, and as the grandmother of three great little people, she spends time with family when not writing.
