Hot Wheels
Today, tax advantages go to the ultrarich. How does our society go from massive income inequality to a socialist democracy?
“Hot Wheels: Cool Assassins 2” examines the transition between rich & poor versus equal pay for equal work. A true meritocracy. Scratch corporations and you have cooperatives.
But socioeconomics is boring, so the narrative feature two extraordinary female martial artists, high-speed chases and clever attacks on the world’s most powerful CEOs.
A small group of humans have colonized outer space, built solar-power platforms in high orbit that empower 35% of the global grid. They have developed a society where women get equal pay for doing the same work as men, and women get three-month paid sabbaticals whenever they choose to become pregnant.
It’s fifty years into the future: 2076. Most places on earth worship money, fossil fuels and oppression of the poor. Whereas spacers have evolved a cooperative society that’s fair and friendly. Open the pages and see for yourself.
đ§What readers say about the book
I picked up this book directly from Kira Griffo, and Iâm so glad I did. Hot Wheels: Cool Assassins 2 is unlike anything Iâve read in years. On the surface, itâs a pulse-pounding ride, two fearless female martial artists tearing through high-speed chases, going head-to-head with some of the worldâs most powerful CEOs. The fight choreography is sharp, the pacing relentless, and the twists kept me turning pages late into the night. But what really sets this book apart is the way it weaves in bold socio-economic ideas without ever slowing down the action. The contrast between Earth in 2076, still clinging to fossil fuels, greed, and inequality, and the cooperative, women-empowered society built by spacers in orbit feels both visionary and unsettlingly believable. The author imagines a meritocracy where equal pay is the standard and corporations give way to cooperatives, and somehow makes those ideas feel as exhilarating as the fight scenes. What I loved most is that it never lectures. The philosophy sneaks in through story, through character choices, and through the clash of two very different worlds. By the time the assassins strike at the heart of wealth and power, youâre not just rooting for them to win the fight, youâre rooting for their vision of a better future. This is smart, daring, and fun sci-fi with real teeth. If you like your adrenaline mixed with a serious look at what our world could become, this book is a must-read.

___My hobbies are recreational mathematics and history, especially ancient history. I’m an avid hiker and cyclist. I read in the genres of historical fiction, science fiction, martial arts and police procedurals. Not surprisingly, I write in the same genres. My strongest concern is for ecological woes that humans are creating, so I write of a future where my characters must deal with an out-of-contrl climate, where extreme weather events have grown common.
___I’ve published three books of the Cool Assassins series: “Woke”, “Hot Wheels” & “Afterlife”. More are on the way. Get to know my likeable characters. You won’t regret it.
